A cattle drive along the Chisholm Trail. The drive of longhorn cattle started in Texas and will end at the stockyards in Kansas, about two months and 900 miles later. The scene includes the all-purpose chuckwagon, spare horses in the remuda, "Cookie" the trail cook preparing a meal, cowboys eating their daily staples of cooked beans and salt pork along with lots of strong coffee. Other cowboys are watching over the heard while the cattle bed down for the night.
